Double Deep Pallet Racking is a cleverly designed storage system that sits between adjustable pallet racking and more compact storage systems.
In double deep pallet racking, the pallet loads are positioned by forklifts that traverse along the aisles arranged in parallel to the racking system. It is a very efficient way to store items and well adapted to products of different sizes and weights.
Pallets are stored “double deep” (i.e at two depths) thus achieving a far higher storage density, though the operator will not have direct access to every pallet that has been stored.
Double deep pallet racking requires specialist forklifts – equipped with telescopic forks – to be able to safely access the second pallet.
